Supporting Our Community

sunset.jpgJai Yoga is committed to Karma Yoga, or selfless service, and serves the community not only by teaching yoga, but also through donations of time and resources. We also encourage the community to serve each other.

At Jai Yoga, we live the practices of Yoga. Yoga is Union. Realizing that we are all interconnected, we are all one, each act that we can do for the betterment of our community, for the strengthening of our unity, is worthwhile and necessary. Each act that cares for your Self enables you to better care for those around you. Caring for the Self is serving the community. Serving the Community is caring for the Self.

This practice of service and caring is Karma Yoga and it will take you one step closer to realizing your fullest Self. In this spirit, we offer several charitable events throughout the year which help people care for themselves while offering service to the community. During these events, we raise money for a local, compassionate organizations caring for the community while we celebrate and encourage the spirit of giving and unity.

Past events have included: Laughter Yoga, Walking Yoga and Yoga for Peace. Organizations we have made donations to include: Coastal Humane Society, the Tedford Shelter and the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program.

We also participated in a Special Yoga and Healing Fundraiser and Community Support for farmer Seth Kroeck and family of Crystal Spring Farm, April 6, 2008. This event was in collaboration with other community businesses to raise $40,000 for the Kroeck family.

In November of 2007, Jai Yoga started a Scholarship Fund for Yogis in need. Donations from our Monday Night Meditation Group support this fund. We want yoga to be accessible for everyone! If you or someone you know may qualify for assistance, please call 207.725.7874 or send us an email to let us know!

A Happy Healthy Community makes for Happy Healthy People. And Happy Healthy People make for a Happy Healthy Community.

We also support our beautiful local community as members of the Brunswick Downtown Association.
