David Bennett, RYT
In this lifetime I am practicing as a yogi and as a Buddhist. The yoga dharma is a wisdom that has been cultivated for perhaps five thousand years as a way to realize the perfection of our own essential being. And I endeavor to show in class how the yoga dharma is relevant in everyday life. My classes include the practice of hatha yoga postures, meditation, and teachings from the Yoga Sutras and the Buddha dharma. In my yoga practice I am most influenced by the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and by the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar. I received my yoga teaching certification from Kim Valeri (Amrit Kaur), the founder of YOGAspirit. My Buddhist influences range from Tibetan traditions to Zen and, especially, Theravada Buddhism. I have taken refuge vows from Bhante Khippapanno, a renowned Vietnamese monk and teacher. I began practicing meditation in 1974.
Om shanti. May all beings be free.
