Jo-Anne Elizabeth Severy

My life journey has included an extensive interest in exercise, healing and business. I feel fortunate to have found a position that encompasses all three.
In my earlier years, I worked as an aerobics instructor, creating, promoting and teaching classes to the general public and training instructors for a national company. Wanting to make cardiovascular exercise fun and available to people of all fitness levels, I went on to form an aerobic dancing exercise business.
On the exercise path, not only was I committed to maintaining the health of my physical body, but also a deeper passion and exploration into connecting body, mind and spirit began. I started to see the physical body as a container for the spirit of whom we truly are.
These explorations led me to open a spiritual, holistic bookstore and learning center. The intention was to bring new and varied ideas and philosophies on health, healing and spirituality to the community. I invited many practitioners to share their passions through classes and workshops and I facilitated meditations, healing circles and Reiki shares.
I found myself totally immersed in a search for greater understanding and clarity about my own spirit as I dove into the realm of subtle, but extremely powerful, energy healing. I graduated from the four-year program of Brennan Healing Science in 1999 and my work went from serving the community at large to working with individuals in a private practice for many years.
Along the way, my life took some interesting turns that included many varied entrepreneurial business ventures. I have owned an aerobic dancing business, two hair salons, and a home-style bakery and was a partner in a dairy/sheep/organic vegetable farm/market. I am a wife, mother, sister and daughter, an addicted knitter, play a little fiddle, love music and dancing and care for two Westies (West Highland White Terriers). I have never been bored with life.
Now, I find myself in the supportive role of serving the Jai family of instructors and the yoga community as Operations Manager. Exercise, spirit and business…I am truly blessed.
