We will also work on connecting breath and movement, which is essential to bringing ease and focus to one’s runs. As you are guided to move your awareness throughout your body, you will experience deeper and deeper states of relaxation, resulting in a sense of peace, harmony and balance. Deep healing is possible with the practice of “yogic sleep,” a true gift to the body, mind and spirit. No experience is needed.

RESTORATIVE YOGA – SATURDAY DECEMBER 26 2-4 PM $20

LET GO OF EXPECTATIONS AND EMBRACE JOY

The holiday season is full of the warmth of giving and celebrating with loved ones…or at least, that’s what we expect. Some expect the holiday season to be an overwhelming time full of seemingly inevitable let downs and stress. When we expect things to be a certain way – good or bad – we attach our own happiness to a specific outcome.

By letting go of our ideas of how things “should be,” we allow ourselves the space to experience joy in how things actually are. The opportunity for joy is always there, it’s just a matter of seeing and embracing it.

How can we do that? Two ways: by recognizing and examining our expectations as they arise and by living in the moment.

Practice identifying and labeling expectations when you find yourself feeling that things are not going to plan. Ask why the expectation may have developed in the first place. Where did it come from? Then use your breath to relax into the moment; be right where you are. Enjoy yourself, one moment at a time.
