Svaroopa® is a style of Hatha yoga that uses yoga poses in a whole new way. Support of your body in precise angles of alignment, with the use of props and a focus on awareness, helps to release the very deepest layers of tension stored in the muscles supporting your spine. The core opening resulting from our guided meditation, breathing techniques and precise alignments quiets the mind releasing tensions throughout the body. This opening provides a feeling of well-being that extends throughout your body, your mind and your life. No experience is necessary! Giving Thanks

The Thanksgiving holiday is one known for abundance: of food and drink, of family and friends, of opportunity to celebrate. Traditionally, this is a time to give thanks to others, ourselves, our universe and celebrate by sharing our appreciation with others.

Let this celebration of gratitude be an inspiration to practice gratitude not just during this day of abundance, but everyday. Practicing gratitude can help us with santosha, or contentment. By actively practicing gratitude for the large and small things in our lives on a regular basis, we gather strength for difficult times and we bring joy to ourselves and others.

There are many ways to incorporate gratitude into your daily routine. Here are a few ideas and maybe you have a few of your own as well: write it down in a journal each evening, take a moment of silence to reflect before eating, say it to a friend or family member.

Happy holidays!
