OFF THE MAT
WEDNESDAYS 7:15-8:30 PM with David
For many of us, a regular yoga practice can change our lives. Sometimes the changes are big but often we make many small changes. Whether we intended it to or not, our yoga practice makes its way off the mat and into our everyday lives.
Off the Mat is a weekly conversation and meditation gathering which explores just that. Each session begins with twenty minutes of meditation followed by conversations about how our lives and our practice go together. Discussions vary every week and we look at topics such as emptiness, karma, a teaching from the yoga sutras or anything we encounter in our day to day lives.
The group began in 2007 when several Jai Yoga students expressed an interest in meditation and Buddhism. Over the past 3+ years, Off the Mat has evolved based on whoever shows up. While there is a core group that has been present from the beginning, many others have come in and out at various times.
David’s mission is to be of service to those who come. And so we occasionally revision the group in order to keep our meetings relevant to the participants’ lives and practice.
There is no charge to attend. Donations to the Jai Yoga Scholarship Fund gratefully accepted.
